Kazakhstan confirms its commitment to OSCE principles in democracy: German Federal Government

ASTANA. February 4. KAZINFORM The Federal Government of Germany welcomes the decision of the Kazakh Constitutional Council on declaring the Law on holding the referendum to extend the President's powers till 2020 out of line with the Constitution, spokesperson of the German Federal Government Steffen Seibert said yesterday, Kazinform has learnt from the press service of the Federal Government of Germany.

The German Federal Government supports President Nazarbayev who agreed with the decision and expressed his desire to take part in the presidential elections as it is stipulated in the Constitution.

Thus, Kazakhstan confirms its commitment to the OSCE principles in the sphere of democracy and effective state government. The Federal Government took note of holding early Presidential elections, an official statement reads.
