ASTANA. May 24. KAZINFORM - Kazakh children with cancer surgery to bone marrow transplantation are planned to be operated in Lithuania, said during a panel session the Minister of Health of the Republic of Lithuania Vytenis Andriukaytis.

"We came here to sign the agreement between Kazakhstan and Lithuania on cooperation in the field of health. The agreement has been worked out for two years ", said the Minister.

As stated by the official the contract gives the opportunity to work in all areas of health care - treatment, training, and exchange of experience.

"We are discussing the possibility of establishing a working group, and are dealing with financial issues that Kazakh patients could be treated in Lithuania. I want very much at the first stage to have been discussed. This is not about quotas, but about the individual patient - how long they can wait. One needs to be treated quickly, others can wait. In this case, we can work through the whole program. There is no limit here, because we are having a big clinical base", - said the head of the Ministry of Health.

In turn, Vice-Minister of Health Eric Bayzhunusov said that currently 45 children in Kazakhstan were suffering onco-hematology and generally they are in need of a bone marrow transplant.
