Health matters 'a priority' on international agenda - Nazarbayev

ASTANA. September 29. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ As reported earlier today, the III Islamic Conference of Health Minister has started its work in Astana.

Kazakh Secretary of State Kanat Saudabayev read out the President Nursultan Nazarbayev's opening statement addressed to the conference participants.

"Today, the process of economic globalization, turbulent situation in the world, and climate change raise the priority of health matters on the international agenda," the statement reads.

Nazarbayev suggests the conference considering the issues of maintaining health of mankind. "We are planning to further strengthen cooperation on the protection of childhood and motherhood, struggle against AIDS and tuberculosis," the Kazakh President stressed in his statement.

"I am confident that the conference will be a constructive dialogue resulting in recommendations and effective mechanisms for joint activities," Nazarbayev concluded.
