ASTANA. February 2. KAZINFORM /Serik Sabekov/ The Kazakh President's decision not to carry out a referendum, but to hold snap elections aroused positive reaction of the civil society and international organizations.

Deputy of the Kazakh Majilis Nikolai Turetsky has announced it at the joint session of the Parliament Houses on discussion of the draft Law "On amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan".

He reminded that the Leader of the Nation thanked the people for trust and support and explained his decision not to hold the referendum hence it can create a precedent which will set wrong targets for the next generation of politicians, and chose another democratic way - holding an early presidential election.
