In 1995, the Decree of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev "On the Judicial System and the Status of Judges in the Republic of Kazakhstan", having the force of a constitutional law, was issued. It defines the structure and procedure for the formation of the judicial system, the powers of courts of all levels, the status of judges and the guarantee of their independence, the requirements imposed on them, the procedure for awarding and suspending the powers of judges and bringing them to justice, as well as financial and social security of judges.

In 2010, the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation of the capital hosted a screening of Astana, a musical by Almas Serkebayev. It is noteworthy that Japanese actress Manna Nakano played one of the major parts in the musical. The plot is based on the love story of Almaty doctor Arman and Japanese student Asami. The latter came to Astana to execute the last will of her grandfather, who was captured in Kazakhstan at the end of World War II and was saved by a Kazakh woman. The musical won "Tauelsizdik Tolghauwy" Republican Contest as the best operatic work.

The same day Akkenzhe Devyatko, a designer from Uralsk, won the contest for the best design of the Palace of Independence decorations for the then-forthcoming OSCE Summit in Astana. 9 designers and 8 fashion houses from the Former Soviet Union countries and beyond took part in the contest. The Kazakh Department of Presidential Affairs invited Ms. Deviatko to Astana and awarded her a letter of gratitude.

In 2012, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev attended the ceremony of commissioning of the plant for the production of photovoltaic modules by Astana Solar LLP, a subsidiary of Kazatomprom JSC NAC. The Head of State signed the first solar cell writing "The first Kazakhstan-made module. Congratulations! Nursultan Nazarbayev".

That day the Head of State also took part in the official ceremony of starting the commercial operation of the Long-Term Evolution (LTE) high-speed wireless communication for mobile devices and data terminals in Astana and Almaty. In Kazakhstan, LTE technology boosted the development of interactive services and the introduction of the new technologies in all economic sectors.

In support of the Astana Expo 2017 International Exhibition, famous Kazakh traveler Sapar Iskakov set off, in 2014, on a tour to visit 9 countries: Saudi Arabia, Oman, Comoros, Seychelles, Madagascar, Mauritius, Maldives, Sri Lanka, and India. The trip was organized to make Kazakhstan more recognizable in the world, attract investors, and let a wide audience know about the exhibition. The group of travelers consisted of 4 people including a journalist and a cameraman.

The same day President Nursultan Nazarbayev established a special Order of Labor Glory, which is divided into three classes. A holder of three classes is equal to the Hero of Labor. It is bestowed only on outstanding workers and peasants.
