EVENTS

In 1994, the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan was officially opened in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

In 1995, the Decree of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev "On Privatization", which is effective as Law, was issued. Privatization refers to the act of transferring ownership of public property from the government to individuals, non-governmental legal entities and foreign legal entities within the special procedures established by this Law or in the order specified by it.

In 2002, Kazakhstan and China inked the Treaty of Friendship, Neighborliness and Co-operation, agreeing to actively develop and strengthen the good-neighborly relations, friendship, and win-win partnership in accordance with the generally accepted principles and norms of international law, the principles of mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, mutual non-aggression, non-interference in each other's internal affairs, equality and mutual benefit, and peaceful coexistence.

"Foundation of the Kazakhstan People's Spiritual Development" Joint Stock Company was established in 2008. It mainly aims at regular monitoring and support for the development of cultural values and traditions of the people of Kazakhstan, assistance in the spiritual enrichment of national cultures of Kazakhstan's people and their participation in the international cultural exchange.

In 2009, President Nursultan Nazarbayev visited the head office of Yegemen Qazaqstan Newspaper and congratulated the employees of the publishing house on the 90th Anniversary of its establishment. Yegemen Qazaqstan is the oldest Kazakh language government-owned newspaper. At various times, the newspaper was headed by such well-known figures as Zhusupbek Aimauytov, Beimbet Mailin, Mukhtar Auezov, Saken Seifullin, Oraz Zhandosov, Gabit Musrepov, Sherkhan Murtaza, Abish Kekilbayev.

In 2010, a unique 15-volume Kazakh Standard Language Dictionary was published. The dictionary contains 92,300 words and 57,856 phrases - a total of 150,156 lexical items, giving the interpretation of over 166,000 words. The dictionary reveals all the wealth and beauty of the Kazakh language and makes a significant contribution to raising its status as a state language. It is intended for workers of mass media, science, education, culture, and for all who want to get more profound knowledge of the language.

The same day the Directorate of the 7th Asian Winter Games Torch Relay Race and Halyk Bank signed a partnership agreement in Almaty. Halyk Bank was honored to be the keeper of the Asian Games Flame. All days of the Asian Games, the Flame was publicly available at the head office in Almaty.

Also that day, the Honorary Consulate of our country in the Kyushu region, one of the developed industrial and scientific and technological centers of Japan, was officially opened in Fukuoka. The Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Kyushu is intended to facilitate the transfer of Japanese technologies and attract investment to Kazakhstan in such sectors as metallurgy, petrochemical industry, manufacturing, and agriculture.

Kazakhstan's Muzzone TV Channel announced the arrangement of the first Eurasian Music Awards in 2012.

In 2014, during a meeting in Moscow, Nursultan Nazarbayev and Vladimir Putin signed the Protocol exchanging the instruments for the ratification of the Agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation on Good-Neighborliness and Alliance in the 21st Century dated November 11, 2013.

In 2015, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan developed a multimedia application "Kazakhstan Land of the Great Steppe" in Kazakh, Russian, and English languages, which uses a huge number of photos, videos, factual information, information about our history and culture.

In 2016, Kazakhstan and Iran signed an Agreement on facilitating mutual group tourist travels. The document simplifies the visa issuance procedures for tourist groups of 5 to 50 people. A visa is now issued for one person in a group. The tourist authorities of the two countries exchange the lists of local tour operators in charge of forming tourist groups that travel to Kazakhstan and Iran.
