EVENTS

In 1998, the Republic of Kazakhstan Law "On the National Archive Fund and Archives" was adopted. It regulates the creation, storage and use of documents of the National Archive Fund of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as in the government control of archives in Kazakhstan.

The same day the National Commission on Family and Women Affairs under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan was established with a view to protecting family interests, ensuring the conditions required for women's involvement in the political, social, economic, and cultural life of the country.

In 2000, the first issue of "Aigolek", a bright colorful and fascinating children's magazine, was published. It contained various insightful ethnic folklore materials such as Kazakh poems, proverbs, sayings, as well as the history and traditions of the Kazakh people.

In 2011, the Memorial Wall dedicated to the police officers, who were killed in the line of duty during the tragic events happened November 12 that year, was unveiled in the building of the Zhambyl Regional Internal Affairs Department. On the Memorial Wall, there are photographs of the heroic officers Gaziz Baitassov, Polat Ayankulov, and Zhaksybek Baiseitov, as well as the Awarding Decree of Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev.

In 2015, the Museum of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted the exhibition titled "Time Magic". For the first time, the general public could see watches of the museum collection. The exhibits include various mechanical, quartz and electronic watches made under special orders, as well as antique watches made in the 19th century, a watch with a calendar for 3000 years, to name but a few. The collection was mainly represented by diplomatic gifts handed to Nursultan Nazarbayev over the years, which were transferred to the Museum of the First President of Kazakhstan for state storage.

The same day Kazakhstan's largest martial art academy, Qazaq Batyry, was established in Astana. It unites almost all popular major wrestling sports. The area of the sports center is 850 square meters. There is an octagon, a modern boxing ring, punch bags, and CrossFit equipment. In the academy, there are about a dozen kinds of group classes: from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and boxing to CrossFit and yoga.

In 2016, the first Kazakhstani ski expedition to the South Pole of the Earth started the way from the Union Glacier Camp in Antarctica. The group, which included Kazakh athletes Yuri Yushin, Ilyas Galimbekov and medical researcher Daulet Sharipov, was led by Kazakhstan's climber and traveler Magzhan Sagimbayev.
