Baikonur – Most used spaceport in 2013

ASTANA. January 20. KAZINFORM - Baikonur has once again confirmed the title of the most used spaceport in the world in 2013.

According to the press service of Roscosmos, 23 carrier rockets with spacecraft for various purposes have been launched from Baikonur spaceport in 2013.

Within the past year 11"Soyuz" rockets were set off including four manned spacecraft called "Soyuz-TMA" and four cargo spacecraft "Progress-M" under the ISS program and 3 launches scheduled by the Federal space program and commercial launches were made. In addition there have been carried out 10 launches of "Proton" (1 emergency) carrier rockets, one launch of "Zenit" rocket and "Strela" (RS-18) conversion booster.

Thus, Baikonur remains a leader in the number of launches among space centers of the world.
