4.9-magnitude earthquake hits 575 km from Almaty

ASTANA. KAZINFORM The Kazakh National Network of Seismic Stations has registered an earthquake measuring 4.9 on the MPV scale at 5:26 p.m. Almaty time today.

"The earthquake epicenter is located in China, 575 km southeast of Almaty city. Epicenter coordinates: 41.44° N. 83.46° E. Depth: 5 km," the agency says.
